Expanding WashU Medicine Emergency Medicine at four BJC Hospitals
On July 1, WashU Medicine emergency medicine providers began staffing four more BJC hospitals—including Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West Hospitals—strengthening care delivery.
BJC HealthCare is pleased to announce an expanded collaboration in the East Region with WashU Medicine. Beginning July 1, WashU Medicine will provide Emergency Department (ED) clinical staffing at the following hospitals:
- Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital
- Christian Hospital
- Northwest HealthCare
- Progress West Hospital
This transition reflects BJC's ongoing commitment to advancing clinical excellence, supporting population health initiatives, and expanding access to academic-based care across the region. WashU Medicine providers already staff the EDs at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
The integration of WashU Medicine emergency medicine providers at these four hospitals builds on our shared vision for creating a more connected and consistent patient experience, grounded in academic expertise and regional collaboration.
Our longtime TeamHealth colleagues will continue to provide exceptional services in emergency medicine, anesthesia, and hospital medicine at other BJC locations. We are grateful for this ongoing relationship and shared commitment to high-quality patient care.
BJC is working closely with WashU Medicine and TeamHealth to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption. The excellent care our communities expect will continue, backed by a strong academic foundation and a spirit of collaboration.
We look forward to the benefits this change will bring to our patients, teams, and the future of emergency medicine across BJC.
