When Linda Haberstroh was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, she had recently stepped into the leadership role of her family’s O’Fallon-based business, and was also pursuing an MBA degree.
To accommodate her busy life, she needed treatment close to home, which she found at Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital. She received all of her chemotherapy and radiation therapies there, and is now cancer-free.
The level of care she received was one of the major reasons she stepped into the Foundation’s first chairman of the board role, when the nonprofit formed in 2011.
“I think it’s vitally important to support the health of our community. We have such a gift in the care excellence provided by BJC HealthCare, Siteman and Washington University at both Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West Hospitals,” says Linda.
“We’re passionate that each dollar we raise is the most effective it can be in supporting community health.”
